Capt. Drew Nobregas

Hey everybody! I’m Captain Drew, an Islamorada Fishing guide pursing my lifelong passion; fishing! I grew up right here in Islamorada, fishing regularly since I could walk.

As a child all I ever wanted to do was fish. Every birthday my goal was to conquer a new species and spend the day out on the water with my family. I played baseball up until college when I enrolled into Florida State University. I pursued a major in English and business, hoping to go onto law school and become an attorney. Well, after my undergrad I took one fishing charter and that was it! I knew what I wanted to do.

My love for fishing comes from my father who was also a guide here for 23 years. He taught me most of what I know, and I’ve been hooked ever since. He is the most valuable friend and asset to my business even today. We talk every day about fishing, and he still helps me develop new strategies and ideas to stay ahead of the competition.

A native Floridian, Captain Nate Weinbaum has lived and fished the Florida Keys for over 20 years. After college and football, 10 years plus as a builder, it was only natural for him to become a fishing guide next. "I don't remember not fishing. Some of my earliest memories as a child were of fishing and the ocean. I've always been passionate about it and enjoy sharing this with others, young and old." Focusing on Florida Bay, The Everglades, and shallow flats, Nate has two state of the art boats for these purposes: Flyfishing aboard his 8wt Floyd skiff covers the sight fishing addiction on the flats and reaches hidden places that the Glades keep hidden away from most people. His bay boat takes care of the rest. It's a custom 24’ fishing platform, designed with comfort and flexibility for one or two, or family, friends, or even corporate groups. Captain Nate guides some of the most experienced anglers but working with youngsters and entry level fisherman and teaching them the ways of the water is also something he prides himself on. A call to this experienced adventurer can harvest some great lifetime memories! Fishing at its best!
